Michigan Reconnect supports Michigan’s workforce by making higher education and skills training more accessible and affordable. By using this program, employers can:

How It Works
Michigan Reconnect is available to Michigan residents who are 25 years or older and have not yet completed a college degree. For a short time, those between 21-24, years old with no college degree will also qualify if they apply by Dec. 31, 2024. The program covers the cost of tuition at in-district community colleges and provides a significant tuition discount for those attending out-of-district colleges. Additionally, it offers pathways to high-demand careers through skills certificates, making it a versatile option for various industries.

Who is eligible for Michigan Reconnect?
To qualify, your employee will need to meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 25 years old at the time of application. Or, be between 21-24, years old and apply by Dec. 31, 2024.
- Have lived in Michigan for at least one year.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED.
- Have not completed a college degree (including an associate or bachelor’s degree).
