As 2023 begins, West Michigan Works! (WMW!) publishes its 2022 annual report to reflect on our successes, the accomplishments of our partners and to discover new opportunities for a qualified workforce that meets our region’s talent needs.
Our 2022 job seeker survey and increased service center traffic showed us that things are moving in the right direction. We also established a development and innovation division, allowing us to scale our programs and find new opportunities to better serve the economic needs of west Michigan.
The work of WMW!’s champions did not go unnoticed either. We were named a U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Registered Apprenticeship Technical Assistance Center of Excellence and presented with the 2022 Best Practice Award. We were also recognized by the DOL Employment & Training Administration as an Apprenticeship Ambassador for expanding, diversifying and modernizing our registered apprenticeships.
2022 was another year of development and service for West Michigan. 2023 will be no different. WMW! looks to continue strengthening its partnerships with employers, educators, economic developers and community organizations.
