The Michigan Construction Foundation (MCF) recently released Michigan’s Construction Industry: By the Numbers that reports on Michigan construction industry labor data.
“We are focused on finding more workers for construction employers,” says Brindley Byrd, Executive Director of the Michigan Construction Foundation (MCF), “and because of that, we looked at available data on Michigan’s construction workforce to understand where the industry really is right now.”
This report organizes Michigan’s construction industry into four sectors and five occupational categories. It looks at the lost decade from 2006 – 2016 showing the industry has regained all workers lost during the recession. And the report provides data totaling over 265,000 people work throughout the entire construction supply chain in Michigan.
Data collected in this report will be used as a benchmark as MCF looks to issue a workforce forecast for Michigan’s construction industry later this year.
