Tech Defenders specializes in repairing and repurposing mobile devices for K-12 schools and businesses across the nation. They recently teamed with West Michigan Works! to donate 30 Chromebook laptops to West Michigan Tech Talent, an employer-led industry talent council dedicated to building and sustaining a strong IT workforce in West Michigan.

“This partnership is especially important right now, with millions of families out of work and out of income due to the COVID-19 crisis.” said Allie Miller, Director of Marketing and Communications for Tech Defenders. “Access to technology will ensure hundreds to thousands can remain connected and working this turbulent time.”
The Chromebooks will be used for special projects and programs by West Michigan Tech Talent, including MiCareerLaunch, MiCareerQuest, BitCamp, Hour of Code and Beer City Code.

“Having access to computers and internet is becoming increasingly important. The more exposure kids get to computer science and technology, the more likely they are to become our future workforce,” said Pentiak.
