Dee-Tails was the perfect spot for jobseeker, Alahna. She loves dogs and Dee-Tails is a full time, cage-free dog daycare, grooming and boarding business. They have a large outside fenced in play yard and an inside playroom as well. Both were designed specifically for the safety and comfort of the dogs. Dee-Tails is owned by Bridgett Dee and she has several employees. The sight was targeted for a work experience opportunity which worked out well since they were also looking to possibly hire new staff.
The youth interviewed with Bridgett and was accepted to try out the job. She worked an average of 30 hours a week. She earned excellent weekly evaluations and fit in very well with staff and the worksite community. After just 11 short weeks Dee-Tails decided to hire the youth to work for them. She has been working for Dee-Tails for 6 and half months.
Owner, Bridgett Dee, is quoted as saying “As a small business, utilizing programs like the Michigan Works Youth Program, is essential to our success. Not only does this program offer great financial breaks for those workers but it also gives us the opportunity to further diversify our staff. Having the chance to pull from the backgrounds, education, and values of each of our different employees is one of the things that makes working at Dee-tails such a blessing.”
