It’s no secret the health care industry is growing quickly; there are more open positions than people to fill them. This is great news if you’re looking to jump into a career in health care.
Some jobs in the industry require a lot of training: physician, nurse and surgeon. But, there are many jobs requiring much less training: certified nurse assistant, pharmacy technician and personal care assistant. These jobs are great career options and also a launching point to other health care jobs.
Personal care assistants work one-on-one with individuals in their home or a care facility. They may do light household tasks, personal hygiene assistance and health care related tasks. This job is growing rapidly; by 2026, more than 8,500 jobs will be added.
Most personal care assistant positions require a high school diploma with little to no prior experience.
