An estimated 1.3 million individuals with disabilities call Michigan their home. Over half of these individuals are working-age and have abilities that can add value to the workplace. MRS provides specialized services and training to assist eligible teens and adults with disabilities find and maintain employment. Their mission is to develop customized workforce solutions for businesses and individuals with disabilities.

MRS helps eligible job seekers remove barriers that might be keeping them from becoming employed or maintaining employment. They work with community partners like local school systems, community colleges and adult life programs to help students with disabilities succeed in their education and transition into employment. The offer services like job exploration, work-based-learning experiences, workplace readiness training and much more.

MRS works with local businesses to understand their workforce needs so they can match qualified candidates to job openings They also partner with Michigan Works! where job seekers can attend free workshops to get tips on creating a resume, practice interviewing skills and build other employability skills. Job seekers can also meet local employers with current job openings, at hiring events hosted by Michigan Works!
Job seekers and employers working with MRS have access to TAP, the Michigan Talent Acquisition Portal. TAP gives employers access the largest talent pool of individuals with disabilities. It also provides job seekers a portal to post their resume, participate in online job fairs and connect with interested employers. MRS also provides additional support after job placement to ensure both the employee and business are satisfied.
