On-the-Job Training (OJT) provides funds* to reimburse employers for costs associated with training a prospective or new employee. OJT is ideal for employers who are looking to:
- Reduce new hire training costs
- Expand their business
- Hire staff trained with specialized skills
*50% of wages during the on-the-job training period will be reimbursed to the employer (typically 4-6 weeks).
Eligible employers must:
- Do business in Kent, Allegan, Barry, Muskegon, Ottawa, Montcalm or Ionia County
- Have been in business for at least one year
- Have at least one full-time employee
- Be financially sound and current on all state tax obligations
